Overview

Automotive manufacturers use LED backlit switches and panels to create a safe and aesthetically pleasing cockpit environment. Panels and switches with etched or painted symbols backlit with LEDs are nearly invisible during the day but give the driver better orientation at night. Because cockpit sub-assemblies are often sourced from different suppliers, tight colour and intensity tolerances — and standardised test setups — are essential to prevent visible non-uniformity in the finished vehicle.
The Feasa Low Light LED Analyser is the ideal solution for these applications. Its extra sensitivity measures low light levels accurately even after the light has passed through an etched plastic panel — where standard analysers simply cannot measure reliably. Using a 2.2mm fibre optic with a 1.5mm single core, it captures diffuse light efficiently and delivers repeatable chromaticity measurements (±0.002) and intensity results (<1%) across 3, 5, 6 or 10 channels simultaneously.
It connects via USB or RS232, supports Daisy Chain for scaling up to 30 units, and ships with a full software suite including GUI, DLL, LabVIEW support and C/C++ programming examples.
Built for backlit panels. Trusted globally.
Extra sensitivity for low light
Measures luminance from 0.5 cd/m² — accurately capturing light levels after it has passed through etched or painted plastic panelling. Standard Feasa analysers cannot measure reliably at these levels. Maximum luminance up to 1,000,000 cd/m².
Full colour characterisation
Tests intensity, homogeneity, xy chromaticity, Dominant Wavelength and CCT simultaneously per channel. xy Chromaticity accuracy of ±0.01 @ x=0.33, y=0.33 (immediately after calibration). Repeatability ±0.002 and <1% intensity.
2.2mm large-aperture fibre
The 2.2mm OD fibre with 1.5mm single core captures diffuse light from backlit panels efficiently — far more effective than the 1mm fibre used on standard Feasa analysers for this application. Minimum bend radius 30mm.
